Research guide

The Research guide section of the CODART website is a portal to physical and online sources of knowledge of Dutch and Flemish art, intended as a tool for curators, scholars and students.

The Research guide section has been part of the CODART website since 2005; it was updated and renewed in 2011. One of the aims of the new version is to integrate the information on our website with the vast resources in the RKD databases. For those who prefer the old version, it is still available here.

Publication in the spotlight

The Pushkin Museum holds an extensive collection of Dutch and Flemish art. Their catalogues, however, have so far only been available in Russian. The Foundation for Cultural Inventory has committed to translating these catalogues and making the art accessible for the world.

The catalogue of paintings is freely available as a Pdf (67 MB) courtesy of the Foundation fo Cultural inventory.

Curator’s bookshelf

This bibliography is a guide to the most essential reference material available online in full text or at the RKD library. It is intended as an aid to scholars of Dutch and Flemish art.

Resources & links

This section lists research resources for Dutch and Flemish art in the Low Countries and abroad. It includes databases and other online resources, as well as links to research institutes, documentation centers, art-historical and other professional organizations, libraries, archives and specialist booksellers.
